Our Data Isolation Pledge
Unlike standard cloud applications, we employ an Isolated Vault Architecture. Your case data is never commingled with other users' data, ensuring the highest level of confidentiality.
1. Data Isolation & Security
At getlawyer, we treat your data with the solemnity required by the legal profession. We use architecturally isolated environments for every Case Vault.
Technical Isolation
Data from "Case A" is physically and logically separated from "Case B" at the database and storage layers. This prevents any possibility of cross-contamination or unauthorized access between different client matters.
2. Preserving Attorney-Client Privilege
We employ End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) on all Vault files and Chat logs. This means that only the parties involved in the case (the client and the lawyer) hold the keys to decrypt the information.
getlawyer administrators cannot view the contents of your case files or private messages, preserving the integrity of legal privilege.
3. AI Training Opt-Out
We respect the sensitivity of legal data. Your case data is never used to train our AI models without your explicit, written consent.
Any AI tools provided on the platform operate on segregated, pre-trained models that do not learn from your private interactions or uploaded documents.
4. Immutable Audit Trails
Security is verifiable. We maintain a permanent, immutable log of every file view, download, and modification within a Case Vault.
- Transparency: Both clients and lawyers can see who accessed a file and when.
- Security Audits: These logs are cryptographically signed to prevent tampering and facilitate security audits.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
You own your data. When a case is closed, you have the option to export your entire Vault. Upon request, we will permanently purge all data associated with a closed matter, subject to statutory record-keeping requirements for lawyers.
6. Global Compliance
Our privacy practices are designed to comply with Nigeria's Data Protection Act (NDPA) and international standards like GDPR where applicable, ensuring your rights as a data subject are protected globally.
